Review: Plants vs Zombies

Hands down, this game is a wild success. How do I know?

Because I'm addicted to the silly thing. I play it almost every day on two platforms... I first got the game for my PC and soon after for my Win7 smart phone, so I could play it on the go.

The success of the game is due to two aspects. One, the game has the immediately addictiveness of accessibility. You can pick up the game and play at whatever level you left off at, and when you quit your games is saved at whatever level you are. It's not hard to play, and it's easy to play for hours. I water my plants in the zen garden every day, as if they were real plants.

There are mini-games and regular tower defense levels. The first round through, you are earning plants and learning the game. The second round through you have almost all of the plants if not all of them at that point and three of your plants for the level are already chosen for you.

It's actually insightful to compare my game play from computer to cell phone. I'm actually doing better on my cell phone than my computer, even though the computer has a bigger screen. Consequently you would think, if I could see more of the screen, I would do better on the computer.

I think I play better on my cell phone because I can hold the phone in my right hand and touch the screen with my left hand...(I'm left-handed)... and when using the computer, a mouse in my right hand, is my tool for controlling the plants and catching the suns and coins.

Who would have thought it possible?
