Mistborn is a well written book in which Mr. Sanderson has taken the time to do some strong world-building. The whole workings of using metals to enhance your abilities is well thought out and solid. This creates a stable world in which to toss his characters and see how they do, and not only how they do under normal circumstances, but how they do when their world is turned upside down and the balance of power is shifted from a dictator to somewhat of a democracy.
Kelsier recruited the underworld's elite, the smartest and most trustworthy allomancers, each of whom shares one of his many powers, and all of whom relish a high-stakes challenge. Only then does he reveal his ultimate dream, not just the greatest heist in history, but the downfall of the divine despot. ~Book Description from AmazonThe characters seemed somewhat undeveloped though...Vin, the main character for example: oftentimes it is mentioned how quickly she picks up allomancy, but only a few times do we see her training with Kelsier. Am I supposed just accept this fact without and proof?
The book was very engaging overall and I enjoyed reading it. Now on to the second book in the series, The Well of Ascension.
